PREDICAMENT IN THE PHILIPPINE SYSTEM

Poster's Note: You are free to counterpunch whatever I said here.

I have just lost my privilege to vote. I considered it as a privilege since not all qualified voters are able to. Qualified voters are those people who've reached the age requirement which is 18 and are Filipino citizens. But not all in this pack are able to do their supposed to be a right, not just a privilege. I belong in this pack.

I am usually not one who quetches on the flaws of our government, but today will be different.

I am disappointed with our government's status quo. Now that national election is coming, I am pretty sure that walls with 'Post No Bill' sign would be flooded again by smiling faces of chair aspirants. If it wouldn't be on the walls, some might compensate for tarpaulins so people might see their bodies gesturing success. It's a cycle. It's now even a tradition. It's part of our progression(are we?).

There's nothing wrong in here, actually. It's a part of electioneering. But what's wrong here as I see, is how we manipulate and go over with the process. Yeah, you can put up your poster, but, there are posters at the wrong areas. During high school or even college, the running parties would be consulting the school's COMELEC on what places they are legal to put up posters. I guess the same policy applies on our national election. Running candidates/parties should ask the COMELEC on where to put up posters. Here we see the bug in this policy. Some candidates are not complying to this policy by putting up posters, tarpaulin and even billboards at wrong places. I am not going to elaborate more, look around you.

When I was young, I said I wanted to engage in politics. This idea chanced upon when I was listening to my grandfather, which happens to be a politician, and my tito about the Philippine government. So being a politician was stimulated in my head. As I grew up, yeah sometimes I still think about it. But now, nah. If I really wanted to, maybe I would first enter showbiz.
