I HATE MY NAME

I abhor my name, more than anything in this world. According to my dad, Kenneth means handsome and Theodore means God's gift, therefore they named me Kenneth Theodore because for them, I am God's handsome gift.

Don't get me wrong, though. I actually love my name, especially considering the semantic relation of my name to me. LOL. But seriously, I hate my name because it's too loooooong.

During exams, you are supposed to write your name in your paper. You know the drill. So there I was, writing my name while everyone is already answering Test A. Why do I always complete my name when I can just write Ken Carsula? Stoopid. I just realized this when I was in Junior High. More stoopid.

I also hate it whenever I'm told to describe myself by filling in describers that start with the letters of my name. K. What the hell. Maybe some nerd might think of an adjective that starts with K, but this Carsula, none at all. But thank God my telencephalon was functioning that time, and I was able to think of knowledgeable as a describer. But don't be fooled, because I am nowhere near the word knowledgeable. :D

I, being the creative person that I am, can't as well think of an unconventional nickname for myself, I can only think of Ken which apparently is already popular among all Kenneths. I envy my friends whenever they create good nicknames for themselves. [I have a different notion of nickname by the way. It is rather not just shortening one's given name but also making it sound cool. Okay, I did not make any sense here.] So, I have to stick with Ken. But if you have any ideas there that you can contribute, you are more than welcome to share. :D

But apart from all these abhorrences, I kinda love my name. I already did mention it, right? Am I weird? Yes, definitely. :D

Sorry for the uh, rather sabaw atmosphere in this entry. I'll try to be more efficient next time. :D

EK EK EK EK EK

Poster's Note: That's Enchanted Kingdom. Not actually, ek-ek. Okay, whatever.

As I splashed in a cold bath yesterday, I had a spur-of-the-moment decision. Sasama ako ng EK! :D

I kinda have a thing on deciding in the nick of time. So, I prepared myself, packed my stuff and headed my way to school to rendezvous with my friends.

We had one Trooper(thanks Mike!), one van(thanks Bea!) and one Crosswind(thanks Gam!). Enough to transport all of us. We tracked the expressway, and had a stopover at SLEX Mcdonald's. We had lunch there. After gorging, we headed straight to EK.

......
......
......
......

We had fun. :D

Let the pictures tell you the story. LOL.

OF MANNY PACQUIAO AND MIDTERM ELECTIONS

Manny Pacquiao has again shown his extraordinary vigor in the boxing ring as he defeats the braggart Jorge Solis by an 8th round technical knockout last April 14, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas.

Despite the cut above his left eye via head butt, he was able to control the match and retained his international WBC super featherweight title. The world has seen once again those powerful punches and jabs by Manny that put him to fame once more.

Coined as the "People's Champ", he was welcomed last Tuesday by the whole country particularly, those who are vying for a position in the local government. His so-called hero's welcome was exploited by running politicians by turning it into a political campaign.

Now that Pacman has completed his task on beating Jorge Solis, he only has one more to trounce, it is none other than the incumbent South Cotabato Representative Darlene Antonino-Custodio.

After closely considering his options, he has finally decided to run in South Cotabato, his home province.

I do not question the grounds of Pacquiao's intentions in running. However, I think he would be better off as a professional boxer. But if his intentions are genuine, if he really made the decision of running with extensive scrutiny, I guess it just boils down to the electorates.

I only have one message for those people who are gonna be able to practice their suffrage. Vote wisely.

COLUMBINE HIGH SCHOOL TRAGEDY (1999)

I suppose you've heard the very recent carnage on campus at Virginia Tech. It was a senseless murder that left 33 casualties, including the perpetrator which is a South Korean national.

Here is a video of another campus shooting that happened in 1999. I have a friend who was studying in this school and she was there when the event happened. This was very horrible.

My prayers to Virginia Tech.

I GOT A 4.0! YEY!

Grades are nothing but numbers. Grades do not mean the whole world, but darn could they make you happy when gotten right! I got my course card in SCIENVB(Biology) earlier than the day it should be given. It was way better than I expected! Despite the average score that I got in my first quiz, I still managed to get a 4.0! Yey.

It sure made my day! I, finding repugnance on Science subjects, never had pretty high grades on any Science courses since grade school days. It always drifts along 85-88, compared to my Physical Education grades which are by the way, always perfect.

It is not because I find Science subjects as petty courses. In fact, I owe a lot to these uh, rather nerve-wracking subjects. I was paired up with this girl in my Physics class last term, and I was beguiled by her introvertish and sophisticated vibe. I, pretending that I don't know the concepts on Carbon Cycle, asked for her help and without reluctance, she assisted me on placing the arrows on the Carbon Cycle. Since then, we talked a lot than usual. :D

Anyway, I'm still ecstatic with the grade I received. :D Thank you, Ms. Agoo for overlooking at my one absence making me eligible for that perfect attendance grade. I have to love Science! :D

MAN, I NEED TO LIFT WEIGHTS

"What I lack physically, I make it up for standards."

Whenever I see those accented and bulging biceps of Adam Rodriguez, I can't help but inwardly flinch as I feel that my body is way inferior to his. Yes, I have biceps, but they were not as bulbous as Rodriguez's.

Owed to the massive influence of media, men nowadays are gym whores. The booming enterprise of fitness centers around the Metro shows that, predominately, men are being conscious with their weights and body physiques. Lifting weights and barbells, purchasing those Men's Health magazines and subscribing to bodybuilding.com are all but men's enthusiasm that gives them sheer joy.

However, I rather deviate. Don't get me wrong, though. Yes, I have set of weights in my room, I do those Hammer Curls exercises that I saw on TV and I buy Men's Health magazines. But it is not because I want to join the band wagon, rather I want to achieve my satisfactions and manage a better lifestyle.

MISHMASH

The seven-day quasi-call center representative lifestyle has finally paid off, by that I mean after staying super duper uber late for the past 7 nights. Finals week is over and so I can smell the blissful FREEEDDDOOOOMM! :D Though I must say, I still envy my cousins who were able to join the family's trip to Pagudpod last Holy Week vacation. They got tan lines and Pagudpod freebies.

However, while everyone was enjoying their asses off to the white sands of Boracay, Manila was, rather reposeful. I must admit, Manila could be highly progressive if without the gargantuan population here and there. I drove around Makati with no worries of being held up on a traffic. Streets were literally empty. The picture was as if Philippine population was deflated. I just wish that Manila would be barricaded so that out-of-towners will not be able to go back. LOL. :D

American Idol 6 Update: Haley Scarnato went home, April 12, 2007.

OFFICIAL BOTTOM THREE: Chris Richardson, Phil Stacy, Haley Scarnato

No surprises at all? What the f*ck, Sanjaya! He's not even in the bottom three. I swear, if he wins Idol, I'll go packing and transfer to another universe.

~~~~
YEY! MANCHESTER UTD!
Boy, they sure make me darn proud to be a fan! :D
Goals galore! Poor AS Roma, they only scored once. All hail Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sir Alex Ferguson. It was a decisive match. A topnotch defense and ball handling. Way to go Manchester United!
Looking good as well in Barclays. This is a presage, they're about to reclaim the trophy from the rivals. Crush Chelsea and bring back the crown to the club! :D
ON EXTRA-JUDICIAL KILLINGS
Poster's Note: I know. I am, rather young to talk about these things. This entry might not possess that lucidness which a scholarly and profound journalist may write about, however it would not stop me from expressing what's in my mind.
Being a person of the society who belongs to the political left, I am quite appalled with the very recent extra-judicial killings here in our country. Over the recent years, reports of flaring number of killings of political activists, predominately those associated with leftist or left-oriented bastions, have caused increasing concern in the Philippines and internationally, as well.
It is a sad reflection in our society that our own government has not taken any significant steps to stop these extra-judicial killings. It is either the government is unwilling to pioneer solutions or it is incapable of terminating such arrest.
Since the offset of the year alone, fifteen people have become casualties of extra-judicial killings, according to local human rights group Karapatan. Extra judicial killings have played a major role on the break down of the protracted peace process between the government, NPA, CPP and other related groups.
Urgent steps are needed by our government to remediate these situations. I hope soon, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will be able to produce solutions for these, rather immoral doings.
18
I'm 18, soon.
Funny, I don't feel any older. But who cares, I am now legal. I don't need to get consents from Mom whenever I have parties to attend. Yey! But it's a lot scarier, though. I might be put up to jail for doing something bad. LOL.
WANTS FOR MY 18th BIRTHDAY:
1) new sneakers
2) MacBook Pro
3) Bible
4) night out with barkada
5) SLEEP... lots of!
STRESS
By now, I should have profoundly learned the meaning of stress. I feel now the torments of being a AB in Economics and BSC Major in Advertising Management degree taker, and to add insult to injury, I was not able to go with my family to Pagudpod because of the stack of school works on the way. How sweet can it be. (I hope you get the sarcasm on this.)
I am officially indecisive. I have mastered Tetris, meet your Olympics Tetris player.
I TOOK THE "WALK"
I have always admittedly cringed myself whenever I see Nicholas Sparks' A Walk to Remember. It has always just been rather... cheesy and mushy. But today, after reading religioulsy the entire book - you know, not skipping chapters and all that - it hit to me that Sparks wanted us to believe that love can be pure and that good wins out in the end. In our own lives, we tend to overlook things and consider them unremarkable. But then when you mull over those things, you are amazed with the treasures hidden within.
Pure love begets pure love. I am sooo now raving on Sparks' ability to tug people's heartstrings.
OF CRAZY DREAMS
I will dedicate entirely this entry for my dreams. In twenty years time, I'll probably look back to this entry and check which one of these I've managed to fulfill. Here goes:
INSANE DREAM NO. 1
I want to live in England, or at least spare me a chance to see Wayne Rooney play.
INSANE DREAM NO. 2
I want to own a coffee shop. Since I will be working for Starbucks, by then, I probably have mastered concocting coffee beans and milk and other stuff you put on a frappucino. The coffee shop would be named "Bean There", as if it was inspired from the movie Little Black Book. I would put magazine counters, or probably if I become an author, I could have counters for my bestselling books. Yey! My coffee shop would be the cosiest and most accommodating shop ever in the history of coffee shops.
INSANE DREAM NO. 3
I've mentioned this. I want to become an author. Not those fiction thingies. I want to write about things that are rife and current. Maybe I can discuss economic events and some advertising strategies.
INSANE DREAM NO. 4
This would be forever a dream. I want to play for Manchester United Football Club. LOL. That's why it's a dream. :D
INSANE DREAM NO. 5
I want to go places. At least, 10. You know, see all the nice sights that God has made for all of us and have a feel of each country's abundant culture.
INSANE DREAM NO. 6
I want to be a part of the Google team.
INSANE DREAM NO. 7
I want to become a chef.
BLOGGING AT ITS POOREST
I'm such a bad blogger. I can't even find the time to update this thing. Whooops.
School term's over. Finally, all the requirements are done and just a few manipulations on those final exams and I'm FFFRRREEEE! :D I can now successfully ruin my life by playing The Sims 2 all day. With no guilty feelings. LOL. The Sims 2 is so addictive, I swear. I even imagine it during class hours, oh how lame can that be.
I have been feeling down and in the dumps lately, for God knows what reason. For some odd reasons, I should feel happy and positive as I am supposed to be, since I did quite a good job this school term. Let's give it to some hormonal changes.
MISHMASH THOUGHTS:
New shirts. New sneakers. New pod. New bag.
Sorry for the uh, rather... bleak atmosphere in this entry. Boo. I'll try to be more efficient next time. :D
